A regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors was held on September 20, 2022, in Saskatoon. Five board members were present. Highlights of the meeting include: A presentation from John Schulz of the National Auctioneers Association is planned for the upcoming AGM and convention on February 1, 2023. The event will be held virtually, and include PD sessions. Details will be published once they are finalized. The annual fundraiser auction will be held virtually as well, and will close that day. A discussion occurred regarding on-line auction regulations, and the need for our continued discussions about them. The grievance committee heard and responded to two concerns the public voiced concerning the sale of goods via the internet. A discussion was held regarding the implementation of the Federal Luxury tax, and how it affects Auction companies in the province.
The financial statement, and proposed budget for 2022-23 was presented, as well as the Secretary’s report. Fee structure for 2023 renewals was approved, and will remain at the 2022 rates. The next meeting will be held via TEAMS on December 13.
